Ch. 4- General Electric: The Marketing Enviroment

General electric is aware that they are known through out the world and that they will need to make changes and adapt.(GE) has a great marketing mix; They are supporting communities in more than 140 countries with goods and service, but as time go, so does the old values people have that the company can offer. In an external view, each customer has a life style and companies need to focus on how to supply customers with new values in their life.
Mixed with other technology General Electrics has created to help customers live a steady comfortable life. For every class of people,(GE) created a new meter that will give customers the ability to monitor energy usage, and see what appliances they use more and less power.
People will be able to follow the usage of power, so it can match their budget, such as cooling their house, instead of running a washing machine during peak hours. Customers will be in control of their energy usage as never.
The new meter is called, smart meter. Smart meters, include a system to alert consumers with a text message or a telephone call when they are about to move to a higher-priced electricity tier.
To be able to adjust household power, during critical periods will help a family as a whole, not individually.
